First Resonance (ION)

Used by next generation manufacturers building world-defining hardware like spacecraft, power plants, and robots, First Resonance provides software to visionary companies where flexibility and quality traceability are critical for success. The ION Operating System (OS) connects every part of the factory to meet the dynamic needs of high-precision hardware development, making it possible for engineers to rapidly move from complex prototypes to seamless production, accelerating the development cycle.

Integration Overview

The Datum Source and ION integration is built to streamline procurement operations and enhance how your existing manufacturing and production processes interact with your supply chain.

There are multiple integration points that connect and automate part info, purchasing info, supplier info, and received statuses - all of which can be configured to meet your specific use cases. See below for a visual representation of the primary data and integration flows between ION <> Datum.

Integration Details

The following integrations are available between ION and Datum. Please reach out to [email protected] for further information and/or to discuss implementation.

  1. Parts Library Sync

When a part is created or updated in ION, the part information is automatically sync’d to Datum Source. This eliminates the need for requesters to create parts in Datum. Instead, requesters can simply search for a specific part number or name, and they can add the part(s) to a request.

Parts automatically added in Datum via this integration will have an “External” flag on the part to indicate the part was created via automation. Notably, the part name, number, and revision fields for External parts are read only and can not be edited by users directly in Datum.

  2. Supplier Sync

When a supplier is created or updated in Datum, the supplier information is automatically sync’d to ION. Any changes to the supplier profile information such as, addresses, contact info, or other custom fields will be automatically updated on the corresponding fields in ION.\

  3. Purchase Orders & Line Items

This integration is configured to sync the Purchase Order information in Datum to the the corresponding Purchase Order information in ION. The initial integration trigger is when a purchase order and line item are created or updated in Datum, then a corresponding purchase order and line items are created in ION. Importantly, all key purchasing information, supplier information, and receiving information are pushed from Datum to ION as well.

After the purchase orders are created, any updates made to the purchase order or line items in Datum will automatically push to ION.

For easier navigation, we recommend including a URL custom field on both Datum and ION, and our integration will automatically populate these fields with the corresponding purchase order URL.

  4. Status Updates

Statuses are automatically sync’d between ION and Datum at both the purchase order level and the line item level, so the purchase order status in Datum is aligned with the receiving status in ION. This ensures the purchase order in Datum accurately represents a line item’s received status.

Below is an outline of the corresponding statuses for purchase orders and line items across systems.
